The No. 6-10 Standard Hobbing Machine is a mechanical machine designed for general purpose hobbing. It is equipped with a triple thread index worm for maximum versatility. A single-thread index worm can be furnished for increased accuracy. Maximum capacity of this machine is 6" dimeter by 10" face and 16 pitch or the equivalent. The No. 6-10 Precision Hobbing Machine has been designed to meet the demand for extra accuracy required on many small parts, including spur and helical gears, worm 9ears, splines and special forms. In con struction, the precision machine is basically the same as the No. 6-10 Standard Hobbing Machine, differing only in the use of an extra large index worm gear, with either a single or triple thread worm, selected parts throughout, and greater precision in all fits. This machine is used pri marily for hobbing precision fine-pitch gears for instruments and other precision mechanisms.
